Lollipop 5.0屏幕固定用法

當要出借智能手機給朋友或家庭成員時，不免會擔心對方趁你不注意亂翻私人資料，或翻看其他的信息，幸運的是Android Lollipop增加了屏幕釘選設定，只要在多工介面中點擊綠色的大頭針圖案，就能讓手機的顯示限制在固定的頁面或APP中，甚至有些版本的Android裝置，除了點擊綠色的大頭針之外，還會要求使用者再次輸入預設的圖形解鎖、PIN 或密碼，多一層的隱私防護。當下次行動裝置借給朋友看時，對方就只可以看你已經設定好的畫面，不能私自跳回主選單或是使用其他功能，如此就可以比較安心把手機借給他人了！

Lisa Gade reviews the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, the tablet that can also be a laptop. The Surface Pro 4 weighs 1.73 lbs. and is 0.33 inches thick. It’s cooler and quieter than previous generations thanks to a new cooling design, and it has a slightly larger display (12.3”) while maintaining the same footprint as Surface Pro 3 (12”). The tablet runs Windows 10 Pro on Intel 6th generation Skylake CPUs, with your choice of Core m3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors with Intel integrated graphics. The Core m model has a fanless design. The Surface Pro 4 is available with 4, 8 or 16 gigs of RAM and 128, 256, 512 gig and 1 TB PCIe SSDs. It has a 2736 x 1824 IPS PixelSense display with a 3:2 aspect ratio. It supports touch and the included N-Trig digital pen with eraser, and the updated digitizer has 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity. Dual band Marvel Avastar WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, a front 5MP camera that supports Windows Hello facial recognition and a rear 8MP camera are standard on all models. We review it with the Surface ProType Cover 4 and the optional $199 Surface Dock. We use the Core i5-6300U model and the Core m3-6Y30 in the review, and compare their performance. The Surface Pro 4 starts at $899 and the Type Cover 4 is an additional $129 ($159 with fingerprint scanner).

Microsoft Surface Book Review

Lisa Gade reviews Microsoft’s first laptop, the Surface Book. Like Surface Pro 4, it’s also a tablet, but it’s designed to be a laptop first, with a traditional laptop feel and design. The 13.5” Surface Book has a striking 3000 x 2000 PixelSense display that supports both touch and pen via the included N-Trig pen with eraser. The “clipboard” as Microsoft calls it, or tablet section separates from the fulcrum hinge for solo use. There’s a battery in the tablet and another in the keyboard base, and that base also houses the optional custom NVIDIA dedicated GPU. The Surface Book’s casing is magnesium alloy and it weighs 3.48 lbs. (1.6 lbs for tablet only). It has a backlit keyboard, dual band WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, a rear 8MP camera and a front 5MP that works with Windows Hello facial recognition. It’s available with dual core, 6th generation Skylake 15 watt Ultrabook CPUs and 8 or 16 gigs of RAM. It uses fast PCIe SSD drives (128, 256, 512 gig and 1TB capacities available). It’s a classy machine and an expensive one that sells for $1,500 to $3,000 depending on configuration. We look at the $2,100 model with Core i7-6600U 2.6 GHz CPU, 8 gigs of RAM, a 256 gig SSD and NVIDIA graphics.

Nexus 5X Review

Lisa Gade reviews the Google Nexus 5X, an Android phone made by LG. This is the more affordable and smaller of two Nexus phones Google released for the fall of 2015. It has a slim and light design and is fairly friendly to small hands thanks to the 5.2” screen size. It has a full HD 1920 x 1080 display and it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hex-core 1.8 GHz CPU with Adreno 418 graphics (the same CPU as the LG G4). It has a 5MP front camera and a very good 12.3MP rear camera with a large pixel sensor, f/2.0 lens, laser auto-focus, a two-tone LED flash and 4K video recording. The smartphone uses the new USB-C connector and it comes with a USB-C cable and charger. It has a 2700 mAh battery, dual band WiFi 802.11ac with MIMO, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and a GPS. It’s sold unlocked by Google and it supports both GSM and CDMA, and has LTE 4G for all 4 major carriers (Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile) as well as many other US and worldwide carriers. The price starts at $379 for the 16 gig and $429 for the 32 gig model.

Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 8" Review

Lisa Gade reviews the 8” Lenovo Yoga Tab 3, an affordable Android tablet with a bright and colorful IPS display and big battery that lists for $169. The Yoga Tab has Lenovo’s built-in metal stand and a barrel hinge that holds a big 6200 mAh battery. It has front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos enhancements, and it runs a fairly clean build of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The tablet has a 1280 x 800 IPS display and the quad core 1.3 GHz Snapdragon 212 CPU with 1 gig of RAM and 16 gigs of storage. It has a microSD card slot, single band WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0 and a swiveling 8MP camera that’s both your front and rear camera. The tablet uses Lenovo's AnyPen technology where you can use any pointed object such as a pen or pencil as a stylus without damaging the display.

Lisa Gade reviews the Acer Aspire Switch 10 Special Edition, a classier looking version of the Switch 10 convertible (model number SW5-015-16Y3). This Windows 10 machine is both a tablet and a laptop/netbook with a 2-in-1 design where the 10.1” tablet separates from the keyboard dock. VAIO Z Canvas Review

Lisa Gade reviews the Vaio Z Canvas, a powerhouse Windows 10 Pro 12.3” tablet/ 2-in-1 convertible with an N-Trig pen, wide color gamut display and a quad core i7 CPU. The spirit of Sony is back in the new Vaio company with their flagship Windows convertible that’s the fastest and most port-endowed on the market. The Z Canvas is a marvel of engineering and design, and it has a price tag to match. It’s a high end product that competes with higher end MS Surface Book configurations and even laptops like the 15” Retina MacBook Pro. It has a 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7-4770HQ quad core CPU with Turbo Boost to 3.4 GHz and Intel Iris Pro 5200 (GT3) graphics. It’s available with 8 or 16 gigs of RAM and a variety of fast SSD drives. The base model is $2,199, and more expensive configs vary by RAM and SSD size only. The tablet has full size ports: 2 USB 3.0, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, an SD card slot, 3.5mm audio and a mini DisplayPort (it can drive two 4K monitors). The 3:2 aspect ratio, 2560 x 1704 IPS display has an unusually wide color gamut of 95% of Adobe RGB, making it perfect for graphics designers, photographers and video producers. The convertible comes with a Bluetooth detachable keyboard that serves as the display cover, and an N-Trig Duo Sense 2 pen (Vaio branded). This is the updated N-Trig digitizer with 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity (like Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book) for more natural drawing and writing. It has dual band Intel AC7265 WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, a front 1MP camera and a rear 8MP camera. It has a 63 Whr battery for surprisingly decent battery life given the quad core CPU and high res display. Three internal fans keep things fairly quiet and cool. The Vaio Z Canvas is available direct from the Vaio website (no longer owned by Sony) and from Microsoft stores (both stores sell it as a clean MS Signature Edition with no bloatware).

Microsoft Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 First Look

Lisa Gade takes you through a preview tour of Microsoft’s fall 2015 tablets/ 2-in-1 Windows 10 convertibles, the new Microsoft Surface Book and the Surface Pro 4. The Surface Book is MS’ first laptop, and it’s really a 2-in-1 since the tablet section is removable for solo use. It’s a stunning design and the 13.5” 3000 x 2000 PixelSense IPS display is lovely. It runs on Intel 6th generation Core i5 and i7 dual core U series ULV CPUs. The laptop is available with 8 or 16 gigs of RAM and a variety of SSD capacities. It weighs 3.48 lbs. total (1.6 lbs for tablet only). They keyboard dock and new N-Trig pen are included. The price starts at $1,500, but quickly climbs to $1900 if you want NVIDIA dedicated graphics with 1GB DDR5 VRAM (a custom designed GPU for the Book). The Surface Pro 4 sports improvements and updates including the move to 6th gen Intel Skylake CPUs (Core M, i5 and i7 dual core). The display is slightly larger than the last generation at 12.3”, and it, like the Surface Book, has the updated N-Trig digitizer that supports 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity. The tablet starts at $899 for the Core M with 4 gigs of RAM and a 128 gig SSD. The Core i5 with 8 gigs of RAM and a 256 gig SSD is $1300. The Core i7 with 16 gigs of RAM and a 512 gig SSD is $2,200. As ever, the pen is included but the Type Cover (now with fingerprint scanner) is an additional $129. Both Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book will ship on Oct. 26, 2015.

ZTE Axon Elite Review

Lisa Gade reviews the ZTE Axon Elite, the newest member of the Axon family. The phone runs Android 5.0.2 with ZTE’s MiFavor 3.2 UI on the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 CPU with Adreno 430 graphics. It has 3 gigs of RAM and 32 gigs of storage. It has a 5.5”, 1920 x 1080 IPS display (401 PPI) and is an international LTE 4G unlocked GSM phone with 2 nano SIM card slots. It has a microSD card slot, a 3,000 mAh battery with QuickCharge 2.0 support, dual band WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4 and NFC. It has a very good rear 13MP camera with 2MP camera for depth effects (bokeh) and an 8MP front camera. The phone features triple biometric security- fingerprint scanner. voice unlock and eye unlock. It sells for $469. Unlike the ZTE Axon Pro, it’s marketed as a worldwide phone with no specific US model. It supports only some of AT&T’s LTE bands and it will only do voice and 3G on T-Mobile US. Cube i7 Stylus Review the $350 Windows 10" Tablet with Wacom Review

Lisa Gade reviews the Cube i7 Stylus, a 10.6” Windows 10 tablet with a full HD IPS display and Wacom active digitizer (traditional EMR tablet PC digitizer with 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity and palm rejection). Cube is a Chinese company and the tablet is available from online Chinese exporters like GearBest who supplied our review unit. Despite the low price averaging $350, the tablet is pretty solid. It runs Windows 10 64 bit on the Intel Core M 5th generation M-5Y10c CPU with 4 gigs of RAM and a 64 gig M.2 SSD. Lisa Gade reviews the Toshiba Portege WT20, a Windows 10 tablet with an Intel Core M CPU and a 12.5” IPS full HD touch screen. This is the more affordable counterpart to the Portege Z20t that debundles the keyboard and Wacom pen included with the Z20t. You can buy that $299 keyboard dock separately, and it turns the WT20 into a laptop, though Toshiba markets the WT20 as a pure tablet. There is no active digitizer on the Portege WT20 so it works only with fingers and capacitive styli like those sold for Android and iOS tablets. The tablet has a 5th generation Broadwell Core M-5Y10c CPU upclocked to 1 GHz with Turbo Boost to 2 GHz. It has 4 gigs of RAM and a 128 gig M.2 SSD. The tablet ships with Windows 10 Pro, and it has Intel AC7265 dual band WiFi 802.11ac with Bluetooth 4.0, a front 2MP camera and a rear 5MP camera. It sells for $899.
